AuthorTalk: Andy Hawn
Author of Missouri Maps
Description
While today's digital maps are more accessible than ever, maps were just as important in the past. Missouri became a nexus for travelers from the east, and the gateway to places further west, while at the same time, 14 of the Western US states were carved from Missouri Territory. Author Andy Hahn has been passionate about history and maps his entire life. Since 2003, he has worked as director of the Campbell House Museum, an 1851 townhouse in downtown St. Louis. As a public historian, he loves using maps to illustrate stories from the past. He will discuss his new book, Mapping Missouri: A History of the Show-Me State in 40 Rare Maps. His book will be available for sale and signing after the program.
